I woke up one day this week and had a sick feeling that the stove was not going to fit through the kitchen door. Unfortunately, I was correct. I think Jim is scarred for life. He said it is the heaviest stove he's ever moved and it took 5 guys to get it out the front door, around the house, up the back steps and over the island. But man, doesn't it look great!
And don't you love the hood? Jim had this idea and had to customize it and I think it looks fabulous.
That's a pot filler on the back wall. It's for filling big pots when we're cooking pasta, etc. Here are a couple of other shots of the appliances in their special places. We got great deals at Don's Appliances in Cranberry from Jim Clover and at the Pittsburgh Home Show from Frank. Either guys from Don's can hook you up!
We have 5 days to go until closing and the house is finally ours. The neighbors are very excited for someone to own the house and live here and take care of it, and we're excited to get there. We have the movers scheduled and we're ready for Friday.
The wainscoting went up this week in the master bathroom and it looks wonderful. The vanity is also in.
I think Craig's special pooping place looks like he'll be pretty comfortable.
The pineapple lamp was also installed and it will look great shining through the beveled window.
The address plaque is up too! I think it matches perfectly.
Jim admitted to me that he gets comments everyday from women that they love the purple color on the house. I think they're just flirting with him and trying to hit on him. Look at these legs...
Like I've said before, he's always trying to get in my pictures.
Hopefully this time next week I'll be updating you from inside the house!

We're getting closer....
Another week has passed and here's the scoop...
I keep forgetting to post pictures of the sidewalk! This is just an amazing transformation!
In case you don't remember how bad these sidewalks were a few months ago, here are the before pictures.
And here are the miracle workers:
Midway Excavating and General Contractor. Great job!
The appliances arrived this week and waiting to be installed.
The powder room baby sink went in and it looks great! I love how the paint color and floor turned out together.
Here's a look at the reglazed sink in the third floor bathroom. It turned out so great! Not bad for being 100+ years old!
Here's the master bath shower with marble seat and also the new lights. I think it turned out super!
The white wainscoting will be going up in the bathroom this week.
Something I'm definitely not happy about are the peonies I ordered from Wayside Gardens. I paid big dollars for these peonies.
Pretty dead, huh? I even sent these pictures to them and I've had no response. So I'm definitely scratching them off my list.
So what do you think about the purple flower medallions on the porch? Craig and I think that maybe the middle needs a contrasting gray to accent it better.
The kitchen tiling is moving along too.
This is where the stove will be. Notice the hood in the top of the picture. There will be glass on the bottom of the hood.
That's the updates for the week. We're getting more anxious to get there!

Amazing!
It's been a few weeks since the last pictures since we've been busy moving out of our old house. So that means there's been lots of progress and changes made and I don't know where to start. I guess we'll start at the front door with the new color. Jim made the great suggestion that we needed the foyer to pop more so I decided to go with a peacock blue. I love it and I think it really makes the wood look even more beautiful!
The kitchen is also really looking amazing!
The original sinks were reglazed and look good as new!
The master bath is almost finished. The wainscoting will be going up tomorrow. The closet on the left is where the washer and dryer will be stored.
The third floor was carpeted last week and looks great! (that's Melissa checking out the view!)
We stopped Sunday after Ashley's law school graduation. Craig gave the new plants a drink.
And here's one of the first family photos on the front porch.
The appliances were delivered yesterday and the counter tops should be coming in a week or so. It's getting exciting now!
